2022 Ohio Open

Registration Closed!

WELCOME

The Comet Skippers and Ohio State Games are hosting the Ohio Open April 30th - May 1st, 2022. All individual and team competitors are invited to participate in this two-day event.  Event T-shirt is included with event registration for COMPETITORS only. Pre-paid lunch ($8.00) and extra T-shirt ($15) orders should be placed during registration.   

All competitors and volunteers (judges, pushers, and tabulators) need to register online. Admission is $5 for spectators.

DEADLINES

April 14th, 2022: Registration closes. Volunteers and judges need to be registered.

April 24th, 2022 - Athlete Event Entry Deadline. Absolutely no changes will be accepted after this date.

 

HOW TO REGISTER

Parents/Athletes/Volunteers: Sign up and pay HERE on SportsEngine. AMJRF Members receive a $10 discount toward registration.

Coaches/Team admins:

  1. Visit https://registration.ijru.sport
  2. Create an IJRU account or log in
  3. IF this is your first time using the IJRU Registration System (most users), click "Your clubs" from the left menu and create your roster.
  4. Once your roster is complete, click "All events" from the left menu and select 2022 Ohio Open
  5. Register your athletes and competition entries

Coaches: Please make sure  your judges and volunteers are registered by April 14th.

 

DAY OF EVENT

Event Location: Mason Elementary 3/4 Gym, 6307 S Mason Montgomery Road Mason, OH 45040.

Event check in:  Doors open at 8:00 AM.  No early entry will be allowed.  Please enter at the front doors.  

Coaches: Coach of Record will pick up the coach's packet, event shirts, heat sheets, pre-paid lunch tickets, judge's lunch tickets and competition wristbands.  Competitors must wear wristbands to be admitted.   

Volunteers: Judges/Pushers/Tabulators must check in at the volunteer table to receive a wristband for free admission.  

 

Volunteers

All judges and volunteers need to register using the online registration. All judges and volunteers should register using the non-member form for FREE.

Attire: All volunteers must wear black pants, shorts, or a skirt and a black shirt.  Please look professional.

Judging and Volunteer Requirements:  All teams are required to meet the following volunteer requirements:

  • First 4 athletes: 1 IJRU certified speed and/or 1 presentation judge. 
  • For teams entering 8 athletes: 1 additional judge certified in difficulty and 1 other volunteer (Note: this is in addition to what you provided for the first 4 athletes).
  • For team entering 12 athletes: 1 additional judge certified in required element and 1 additional other volunteer. (Note: this is in addition to what you provided for the first 8 athletes).
  • EXAMPLE: Team of 20 would have 
    • 3 speed and/or presentation judges
    • 2 difficulty judges 
    • 1 required elements judge
    • 3 other volunteers

Coaches will be notified in advance of those CERTIFIED JUDGES who are scheduled and those JUDGES will receive a ticket for a free lunch.  There will be a Volunteer (Judges/Pushers/Tabulator) and Coaches meeting at 8:30 AM.

AGE DIVISIONS

Per IJRU: An athletes' age is as of December 31st, 2022.

All Events (Except DDC):

  • 11 & under
  • 12 & 13
  • 14 - 15
  • 16 - 18
  • 19+
  • 30+
  • 50+

DDC and DDCS Events:

  • 5-12
  • 13-18
  • 19+

Per IJRU rules, the competition committee reserves the right to adjust the age and gender divisions when there are not enough entries.  Coaches will be notified at least two weeks prior to the competition start date.

 

GENDER DIVISIONS

  • Male or Female for individual events
  • Male, Female, and Mixed for group events*

*Gender divisions may be altered based on number of entries

 

AWARDS

Awards will be given for 1st-5th in individual events, 1st-3rd in group events.

Awards will be given at the conclusion of each day's events.

 

RULES

Traditional competition events will follow the 2021-2022 IJRU Rules of Competition.  Judges must have IJRU certification.

All registrants must read and agree to be bound by:

ADDITIONAL EVENT INFORMATION

COVID Safety Protocols: Our event takes place on a Mason City Schools campus and we will follow Mason City Schools COVID protocols.  While masks are not required, they are highly encouraged.  We will respect each others' safety and work to maintain a safe environment.

Admission:  Spectators will be charged $5 for the two-day event and given a wristband at the door.  Children under 5 are free.  All volunteers and judges assigned will gain access to the event by receiving a complimentary entrance wristband.  Competitors will receive a wristband in the Coaches Packet.     ***Please share this information with your team parents/volunteers/fans!

Practice Space: A warm up area will be made available.

Airport Information:  Arrive at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) or Dayton International Airport (DAY).  You can get an Uber to the hotel near our event.

Lunches and Concessions:  All pre-paid lunches are $8.00 and will include sub sandwich, chips, cookie, and drink.  Payment for those lunches must be made with registration. Judges will have pre-paid lunch tickets in coaches packet.  Concessions will be available for purchase.
