Board of Directors

Brian Hsu - President

Brian began jumping rope at an afterschool program in Federal Way, Washington in 2000. After competing on a small local team, he moved to the much larger Hot Dog USA in 2006 where he began teaching and competing around the country and the world. Across his 20-year career as a competitive athlete, Brian has won multiple national and world titles, DDC titles, performed at the 2012 Olympic Games with the group “Get Tricky,” and taught jump rope in over a dozen countries. In 2016, Brian co-founded AMJRF and has sat on its Board of Directors ever since. He remains dedicated to the sport through his strong belief - and personal experience - that jump rope can change lives. Professionally, Brian is a software engineer and in his spare time enjoys making music, bouldering, and, of course, jumping rope.

Nicholas Aronne - Vice President

Nicholas Aronne's journey into the world of competitive jump roping began with his eldest daughter's desire to join a local team. Since then, not only have his other two daughters embraced the sport with the YMCA Super Skippers in Cary, NC, but Nicholas himself has become an integral part of the community. His roles have expanded from speed and difficulty judging to overseeing the technology aspects of competitions. Beyond administrative contributions, Nicholas actively engages with the sport, participating in various speed events alongside fellow Super Skipper parents. Leveraging over two decades of professional experience from the corporate and start-up sectors, he is dedicated to advancing AMJRF and the sport of jump roping in the United States.

Monica Foster - Treasurer (Interim)

I was introduced to the sport at 11 years of age and was instantly hooked. Through performances, competitions, and workshops, I was introduced to a world full of incredible people and talent. I’ve been lucky enough to move into a coaching role with the team I grew up with and have been acting head coach for the past 13 years. The last 10 years have brought me numerous opportunities to travel the world to train judges, direct tournaments, and staff camps. I currently serve as IJRU’s technical committee chair and tournament director. Outside of my time spent in jump rope I am a dental hygienist, have two incredible children and an amazingly supportive husband.
